I Live in India

Disclaimer: Not intended to hurt political or religious sentiments. Apologies before hand ( And yeah no pun intended in the disclaimer).

I live in the  assumed to be democratic country called India.

I live in a country where I may need a lawyer anytime if  I am managing to have an Internet connection or planning to use  my freedom of expression over Internet.

I Live in a country where kissing in public is an offence but pissing in public is all okay.

I live in a country where watching porn over internet is much safer than updating or tweeting what's in my mind.

I live in a country with a big history of invasions, no matter what you call it, Mughals, British or Globalisation.

I live in a country where people stay hungry and helpless not just because of  poverty but perhaps that's our new way to get our demands done (ode to the father of the nation)

I live in a country where we have garbage corners ( not a dispose bin )

I live in a country where you can expect a downpour any time where you may end up with garbage pile over your head( thanks to easy window garbage disposal techniques used here)

I live in a country where we re elect the same government again and later continue blaming them for inefficiency .

I Live in a country, where we prefer a leader who can manage us a free TV or cable connection, or may be a brand new car for electing them.

I live in a country of crores of Gods , demigods, Super Gods, human gods. Our gods will raise my salary if I guarantee them a continuous free milk supply, or a basket of candles or even a bunch of bananas.( now you know the root of corruption at our place)( disclaimer: not intended to hurt religious sentiments)

No we don't bribe, we just give them chaay paani

I live in a country with a principal of  ATHITHI DEVO BHAVA, no matter if you are a terrorist or a prime minister.

I Live in a country where you are reserved, if you are into a so called low caste. No matter what's your financial status or academic merits.

I live in a country where inter caste marriages are  against the tradition, leave alone homosexuality.

TO ALL THE DAUGHTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its daughter's day tomorrow .
Even though there are many parents around me organizing various celebrations around ,though I find it difficult to digest the significance of this day. The question that remains unanswered is whether this day is worth a celebration?
Being a daughter myself I would like to wish all the Daughters a HAPPY DAUGHTERS DAY.

Happy daughters day to all those unborn daughters who witness death right in their mother's womb.

Happy daughters day to all those mothers who support female infanticide , since it's always a son who completes the family. LET ME ASK YOU ONE QUESTION:
weren't you a daughter some day?

Happy daughter's day to all the daughters who had to become a wife before she could complete the role of a daughter.Who says child marriage is abolished from the country.
Then justify the TRP's an T.V. soap receives because of this concept.
Justify the tragedy of girls who embrace motherhood at an younger age.
Justify the story of a bride who met her groom on the wedding day..even though she was married to him at age 9.

Happy daughters day to all those daughters who are not allowed to chose her own love,,,her own life.
Thanks to the community for  her helplessness to chose between love and family....in fear of the life she has to lead with another stranger.

Happy daughters day to all those daughters who had to face the dark clutches of the demon,,,'RAPE'.
no matter what you name it,,, molestation, harassment etc etc. the pain remains the same...for her unknown mistake she is the one disapproved by the society while the demons roam around freely.

Happy daughters day to all those daughters who remains helpless when her prestige an decency gets misinterpreted . Thanks to the eve teasing champions!!!
Name at least one parent who is not worried to allow their daughters move outdoors after 10 in the night, no matter whether it is a city or a village.
I believe that there is no woman in this world who has escaped this disaster. It remains as an unwanted piece of harsh experience in her life.

Happy daughters day to all the daughters who are forced to sell themselves for a living.
If prostitution was a sin, why aren't they saved from the clutches of the cruel men.

Happy daughters day to all those who feel that a woman's freedom of speech is limited.
when a lady spoke of premarital sex she had to face many wraths...but when a guy spoke about it ,,it was his intelligence and concern for the society .

Happy daughters day to all those daughter who still fear their life for the slavery they have to face due to Dowry system and other social hazards like polygamy......

Happy daughters day to all those daughters who are proud to be a women in spite of all these odds...............

BE PROUD TO BE A WOMAN,,,,, BE PROUD TO BE A DAUGHTER..........

THE INDIAN WAY

Thank you guys for the wonder ful response on my previous post. I observed that there are many students in Mumbai who are dissapointed about the interference of caste system in the education sector.

The system in India is so old that this reservation has filled mostof the government offices with the reseved categories. Now thats what we call a developed nation. Equality rules!!!. After all, it is the most significant principle of democracy!!!!!!!.

One of my friend gave us a treat yesterday,,guess the reason?

no,,it wasnt her birthday....she was very happy because she no more belongs to the open category.!

when her dad conducted a research on their family history, he was surprised to know that they belong to one of the backward castes in the country that is approved in the reservation category.

My friend is very happy because she has got the most valued document in the country..........THE CASTE CERTIFICATE.

This made me envy of her . She can secure a seat in a good reputed college in mumbai .The open caste fellows will have to wait in the queue fo some more time.......BETTER LUCK GUYS....

Heres a joke that clearly depicts the stand of India compared to other nations:

Prime minister: We are sending Indians to moon next year .

Obama: Wow!!!how many???

Prime Minister: 100

35- OBC (other backward castes)

25- scheduled castes

20 -scheduled tribes

10- sports person

4 - jammu kashmir migrants

10- physically handicapped

and if possible.. ......1 astronaut

POSITIVE DISCRIMINATION

Disclaimer: this post does not intend to hurt any person's sentiments . Its just an individual 's viewpoint and please be free to express yours by rating it at the end of the post

Venue:an engineering admission centre

student 1: how much did you score in the entrance exam?
student 2: 100
student1:that's very less. you will have to struggle for the admissions!!
student 2 : yeah..what about u?
student 1: 78/200
student 2: then your condition is more worse
student 1: I need not worry,,I am in the reserved category!!!! fellows like you from the open category are gonna terrorised..ha ah ha ha...

This is a true conversation that took place recently between two engineering aspirants. this is what is happening in our country. We claim that caste discrimination is completely abolished from India. But it isn't. Employment, education, and many other sectors are still under the influence of this social evil. Only difference is that in ancient India, it was the backward castes who were oppressed , whereas in the modern Indian society, the open category..(higher castes) are the ones suffering.

I am not at all against the reservation system..but against the type of reservation. we are almost into the 64th year of independence, and is it still necessary to provide reservation on caste basis?? Most of the backward castes are now developed and their standard of living is not poor as before. If any reservation is to be provided , then why not on the basis of annual income of the family?
The caste system in ancient India was a dreadful disaster. The backward castes were deprived of every opportunities. Maybe that's the reason why Dr. Ambedkar formulated a constitution where the scheduled castes and tribes were given prior importance. But the prime reason behind it was to bridge the gap between the low caste poor men an the rich higher castes.
If we consider the life standard of the so called low castes now, then its much improved. The ones that are still suffering belong to the below poverty level families. They can be considered by reserving them according to the family income..
due to this present system of reservation,,many deserving students are deprived of a chance of studying in good colleges since their seats are allotted to the reserved categories.

guys,if you belong to a reserved category , then you might feel awkward reading this article.
But dont u think this is discrimination ?? Should we allow this to underestimate the calibre and merit of the students??? Isn't it high time that the system change???

The students have to pay high donations to secure a seat in a professional course like MBBS or ENGINEERING,,then whats their mistake if they become corrupt officers in the future??
GUYS.....its high time our country wake up....the youth of our country should learn from the example of vicky and vivek who denied a seat under reservation in the most prestigious college in the country---IIT.( click here to know more.)
so what you think??? What can we do ??
if you think this is a thought provoking question,, the do answer the poll to the right of this page..........
