HER 2

This is a sequel to the post HER,  Its good to know the story well before reading the climax. And this ones incomplete without that either.

*********************************************************************************

She did not resemble a bride, in fact inside the veil, there were those tearful eyes that longed for an escape.
She was tired , tired of celebrations, of the lights and sound, tired of change.

Neither could she name the feelings or the thoughts that passed across her mind. Fear, would be rather a wrong quote, for all her loved ones were with her. Neither was she confused. Confusion is when  one finds difficult to make choices and here the choice was already done,
Perhaps she had no choice.

Fate..? If it was to blame fate for everything, then all of us would be just puppets driven by fate enacting the story of life.

Yesterday all that mattered to her were  homework , and the midterms, but today its an entire burden of responsibilities, for she was no more a school girl, but the mistress of

err, she hardly knew whom she was married to.

All that she knew  Tasneem didi , was married to the same person and that she could no more continue education . .

So, You had  to miss school today?,

His voice was sharp, unlike her father, and this time she dared to look across the veil, towards the one who spoke,  an affectionate voice

Yes, but they said I cannot go to school anymore.

No, you can, Tasneem told you love reading. And you can continue it.

This time , she was confused, of whom to be thanked. The messiah in him, or Tasneem who evoked it. For her dreams could be continued even after the nightmare.

I Live in India

Disclaimer: Not intended to hurt political or religious sentiments. Apologies before hand ( And yeah no pun intended in the disclaimer).

I live in the  assumed to be democratic country called India.

I live in a country where I may need a lawyer anytime if  I am managing to have an Internet connection or planning to use  my freedom of expression over Internet.

I Live in a country where kissing in public is an offence but pissing in public is all okay.

I live in a country where watching porn over internet is much safer than updating or tweeting what's in my mind.

I live in a country with a big history of invasions, no matter what you call it, Mughals, British or Globalisation.

I live in a country where people stay hungry and helpless not just because of  poverty but perhaps that's our new way to get our demands done (ode to the father of the nation)

I live in a country where we have garbage corners ( not a dispose bin )

I live in a country where you can expect a downpour any time where you may end up with garbage pile over your head( thanks to easy window garbage disposal techniques used here)

I live in a country where we re elect the same government again and later continue blaming them for inefficiency .

I Live in a country, where we prefer a leader who can manage us a free TV or cable connection, or may be a brand new car for electing them.

I live in a country of crores of Gods , demigods, Super Gods, human gods. Our gods will raise my salary if I guarantee them a continuous free milk supply, or a basket of candles or even a bunch of bananas.( now you know the root of corruption at our place)( disclaimer: not intended to hurt religious sentiments)

No we don't bribe, we just give them chaay paani

I live in a country with a principal of  ATHITHI DEVO BHAVA, no matter if you are a terrorist or a prime minister.

I Live in a country where you are reserved, if you are into a so called low caste. No matter what's your financial status or academic merits.

I live in a country where inter caste marriages are  against the tradition, leave alone homosexuality.

I Live in  INDIA

ON a funny note: I found it really innovative :P

ON SALE

The day had just dawned in.She was busy checking the notes handed over to her by her last customer one by one, removed out the purse tucked inside her blouse and carefully kept the money in it. slowly she went near the mirror .Perhaps she disbelieved her own reflection. The lady in front of her in the green damask sari looked helpless. She touched her pale face and the large red bindi adorning her forehead that had its existence only till the next customer arrived. She took her green pallu in hand that was soon to be torn and stared at  the wide conveying eyes that was dried of the tears

People called her with different names..all that she knew that she was a loser... she lost to herself in the game of life
being touched is not what she loved , but she was forced to sell herself to earn a living
Born to an insolvent father, education was no less than a dream for her.
stuck by poverty, this journey started as a domestic help.
Right from childhood she faced the cruel face of the fate, had to face many a dominating male eyes who looked upon her as an exploitable helpless girl.
Though she managed to escape from the clutches of  dark society, she had to lose it to a rich merchant while a dirty hag dragged her into the red flesh trade.

The place had several brothels ,, adorned with loud music and lights, clamped with the niff of the bad city which considered women more of as a product to be sold . for them the only place for a woman was besides a naked man on the bed and not in his heart or respect

She recollects many a men whom she came across who never repented to strip in the lust of a dirty woman's body just like the bees that hover around the flowers later leaving the flowers pale after sucking out the nectar in it.

Every hour, four women and girls in India enter prostitution, three of them against their will.

They say it is legalized in the country.
But is it really legalized to sell of the minor girls?
yes, thirty percent of the 900000 of the sex workers in India are young girls

There are more than 100,000 women in prostitution in Bombay, Asia’s largest sex industry center.
The reason ranging from poverty, to unemployment and variety of other factors that ultimately lead to children being forced to this inhuman act
One of the most shocking reason that encourages child prostitution is the myth that sexually transmitted diseases are less transmitted in case of a virgin or a minor partner. The fear of HIV/AIDS has increased the demand for virgins and children. Clients mistakenly believe that children have fewer chances of contracting the disease. Similarly there is the myth that a man can rid himself of sexually transmitted diseases if he sleeps with a virgin.
three out of every hundred Indians are AIDS affected and nine out of those ten people are blow 45 years of age.

Even though prostitution is legalised and a woman has entire right to sell her body for money, no one has the right to force young children into this mess
In the largest democracy, where watching porn is not a crime, where every child can access porn over Internet free of cost on mobile or computers, where the law keepers also tend to watch porn during the assembly sessions, where every day news columns are filled with physical abuse and rape news....prostitution may be a least concerned issue in such a country,, but forced child prostitution need to be stopped

Its her age to grow under the shade of a loving father and not between the legs of a cruel man..
Its her age to play with her brother and not to face the lusty eyes of dirty youngsters
Its her age to attend school and not to dance in dimmed red lights

So the change that I wish to bring out is the eradication of child prostitution from the country...A country where no more women have to face the lusty eyes and rude comments....A country where women is respected and her dignity is protected..!

26th hour towards literacy...

I had noticed the topic of  the  Surf Excel Magic #Get Smart Contest ...

'If you had two extra hours in a day, how would you spend it?'...

But never knew what would I do with my extra hours...

At least not till I met her....Yesterday...
She must be hardly ten years old...dressed in rags... dirty face... unclean hair...
she resembled a perfect Indian beggar.....
She did smile....even though her hands were empty, no one bothered to give her a penny..
still she begged...she had the famous ''slumdog millionaire'' versus on her lips....
her  body swinged to the rhyme...

She came to me..

....I hunted for a coin in my bag....gave it to her...she did thank my generosity..
for it was the very first penny of that day!!!!
but her smile grew more wide..when I gave her a chocolate bar..... the chocolate meant more for her...

"Is it cadbury???"

" Read it for yourself..its written on the wrapper.."

A dejected,,, rather more disappointed voice in her replied ,,
" I don't know .....alphabets.... I cant read.....they never sent us to schoool...."

" You don't go to school???"

"No....there is one near our jhopda (slum)...but they don't take us in and we have to earn ..going to school never fills stomach"

she moved further...

.But i was moved more,,,by her words...her helplessness
I decided....the two extra hours of my life....I would do something for them...
In case I get the two hours.....It would be for them.....

Our country got ample of educated youth...but they need to be gathered.....to educate the uneducated....

I would open up night schools for them....
 The 26th hour for education.....
UNICEF says,, 20% of Indian children aged 6-14 do not attend school.

While kins of the rich study in high profile schools...most of them least bothered about the value of the fortune they receive...let these children of the streets learn something... at least to earn a living
They are often deprived of education ... only because they cant afford to sacrifice their earning hours to be spent in school
Many of them work in restaurants...many as rag pickers..many serve domestic help...
and everyone ... loses education
and again they grow up only to create another generation like them... the ones who again miss schools only to earn a living
For them education is for the rich....
And in this country where educations seems to be more  of a business ...the poor ones are often left behind

I would spend my extra two hours for them,,,,

 A NIGHT SCHOOL

something they wont deny attending
At least it wont affect their daily wages.....and offer them free education
At east they would be capable to read the hoardings ,, notices,,and necessary stuff...
They can be made aware of the challenges our country face....they could be let known that there exists a world beyond begging,,,...

girls????????????? OOOOOO....ur born to be tortured............!!

Came across the indibloogger  Sets You On Fire!" contest describing  an unforgettable event in your life...

KFC being one of my favorite place to hangout with my buddies.....The tittle itself attracted me to write a post for this contest( yep ,, obviously the gift coupons attracted me more...!!!)

PS: The above picture has no relation to my story... I loved the pic.and posted it here!!!!!!

This is the first incident that came to my mind when I read the topic...
It happened very unexpectedly
on a normal day....

I had the worst experience in my life then....
I have written posts on woman being tortured...eve teased
I have spoke about measures to stop exploitation against woman...
But today i realised that speaking about it hardly contributes towards the end of these practise...
I realized that truth is far different than spoken words...
For the first time in my life,,, I was sorry for being born a girl
I experienced helplessness...

The story starts here...
As usual we were on our way back home from college.........
As usual we friends were together...discussing about everything under the sun..
Immersed in our own world..
Suddenly one of our friends screamed loudly..
All that  we could here were lots of abuses...she could not control herself..and kept on using those harsh words...
She was almost crying...
her voice seemed so painful...
We were left unspoken,,,unaware of what was happening around us......
however she managed to gather some words.her voice still so shrill....she tried to explain the situation...
all that she could do was to point a gang of boys who were pacing across the street....
that was enough for a girl like me to understand...
They had played mischief....
but this time it was against the limit,,,,,
no girl would forgive any guy if he touches her without her permission...and that tooo... if the touch is painful.....if it hurts herrrrr....
whatever the guy did to her.....was just intolerable
She had seen them approaching her......
Once he reached near her...he placed his hands on her chest...it hurt her,,,,,,
though all this happened within seconds...she had to suffer the pain for a long time...any women reading this must have now made wierd faces,,since we understand the situation...

All I can say is....... It was the worst thing that could happen to any girl........
She may quietly suffer the physical pain......but if it hurts her personally.......... if it hurts her mindset..
and then...
It turns worst when the victim denies his act...
One of our male friends rushed behind them...
He asked them politely whereas they deserved none........
they denied..
they were drunk...
They bet him ruthlessly........
and I could do nothing....in fact we girls could do nothing
we were just spectators............
I wished if  I was born a boy....
I could have helped my fellow friend...
and yes...everyday lots of policemen patrol in the area.....
unfortunately there were none on that dayy....

We were so helpless...and the culprits passes away freely...
They had no shame on their face...

So is our society safe for women???

Answering this question is as difficult as turning this society safe for women....
Hope every fathers..every brothers........and every sons..........understand their responsibility to every women............no matter how they are related to them..........

next time when you feel like torturing a girl.......think about your sister being tortured by a devil like you........
think about your mother being eve teased
these thoughts are more than enough to stop the misdeeds....
only if these thoughts are interpreted correctly.........and realisation matters.........

dedicated to to all those girls who had to face the dark clutches of the demon,,,'RAPE'.

no matter what you name it,,, molestation, harassment etc etc. the pain remains the same...for her unknown mistake she is the one disapproved by the society while the demons roam around freely

to all those girls who remain helpless when her prestige an decency gets misinterpreted . Thanks to the eve teasing champions!!!

Name at least one parent who is not worried to allow their daughters move outdoors after 10 in the night, no matter whether it is a city or a village.

I believe that there is no woman in this world who has escaped this disaster. It remains as an unwanted piece of harsh experience in her life.......

LIFE BENEATH WHEELS

Train accidents are not a new story for any mumbaikar...a cropped leg or injured face is an usual sight for us...but the life still has to move on...the victim is shifted to the nearest railway hospital and the train again sets in motion

These accidents occur due many reasons..
Either the illegal crossing of the rails ignoring the over bridge or the usual hanging at the door...

All it takes is just a span of few seconds to turn our life into a hell..
Every other day we here abut such accidents...

..we don't try to understand the seriousness of the topic unless and until the story is visible to our naked eyes..

One such incident happened with me last week..
I was returning from Virar to my hometown ..via Diva
we had to hault at diva for boarding another local train to my place

Almost for an hour the train was stopped at diva junction..
the reason was another train accident..

I could see the victim

his movements depicted his fight with death

But death did not want his life,,,just a part of his life

He must be in his early twenties...death grabbed his legs from him
He moved to the next railway track so that he could also get deprived of his life....
But fate had another story for him...

He was carried on the stretcher to the nearest hospital
Now he would have to live another handicapped life

What else could happen
life goes on....the train moved ...

Its Mumbai...here life and train stops for no one.....

THe aFTerMAth of WORld Cup

SO the entire nation is celebrating...
Right from the rags to riches...all are bleeding blue.....
Now that I am the prey to my most difficult enemy..THE MIGRAINE..thanks to the loud party and noise at Saturday night...My grey cells had this weird idea...
What if not...??

What if the the lions had grabbed the cup from the tigers???

Would the aftermath be the same as it is now...its obvious 'NO'..i do knoe that ...
The Respect the team members are now receiving would have had the three alphabets  DIS...before it...as a prefix

In spite of gifting them the homes and residential plots...some would have destroyed their current homes

The captain who is now gonna receive the doctorate honour would have other wise landed at the doctor's place...

Now this post of mine does not intend to hurt the sentiments of any Indian...in fact I was the first person to finish my exam at the examination hall...so that I can reach home..watch the match and cheer the team

I am speaking about the indians' emotions attached to the game
There is no other game like cricket which can unite the Indians...not even the national game...
Comeon...how many Indians know the name of Indian hockey team captain??
even I got to know it only after googling the name...
and MS dhoni..he is known to every Indian right from children to the oldies...

The only time when hockey gained attention was during success of the movie
Chak de...India

Why hockey...what about the other games??
the only publicity during commonwealth games was the corruption hing and disordered committee...the game and performance had less coverage compared to it..
I never meant the we should not support cricket ....infact we should support every sport.... and the national game tooo

now that we united together almost for a month for the entire team...as a SINGLE NATION...
we are gonna separate to several states within a week...
the blue bleeders will now start...
HALLA BOL...KORBO LORBOSS...AND HILAYing DUNIYA....here comes the IPL...manoranjan ka baap..
.P.S.: (I heard the world cup shout: "mere paas maaa hain")..

Ready for supporting you team at the IPL...???

Toooo NuMb to AcT

Sometimes we talk big things ...and later realize we are not even worth contributing a small penny..

As if many Indians speak out eradicating corruption, terrorism, and many such social enigmas..but hardly anyone  act..

Its quite easy to speak against these odds..but acting against them is just impossible...

We speak about the enemies of our society...KASAB,, MAULANA MASOOD......countless names...  There are many suggestions by the Indians all over the world..about what must be done with these people.

But we often fail to recognise some of the enemies of our country who are hidden amongst us..
May be because we are just not bothered about the small stone...we are too busy removing the rocks..

I came across one such person last week
I was attending a Music show in our city... It was a very big crowd..
at the end all the spectators were asked to stand up for the national anthem,,,
It was one of the proudest moment in my life... a crowd  of one lakh stood up ...and silently expressed their love for the country..

but there were these group of men in the next row of audience who didn't bother to sprain their muscles. They remained  seated for the entire 52 seconds...

That was resistible...but they didn't even bother keeping quite for a few seconds... they were constantly passing comments about the national anthem,,,

They were indeed strangers to me...but the hatred that i felt for them was something difficult to express in words..I felt helpless.. I could do nothing ,

even though I felt slapping them at their face,,, I was left helpless..

after the anthem ,,I spoke about it to my friends present there..but the reply was silly,,
" why do you bother them,,,None in the crowd around us spoke against them,,why you?? get going"

Aren't these people enemies of  India??..I am sorry that they are Indians!!!

there are many instances to these disrespect in our country..................once the Channawala packed me  the channas(nuts)  in INDIAN FLAG

I am helpless when I  am asked bribe by the officer to get my domicile documents...
I am helpless when my colleague gets eve teased..
I am helpless when I witness gender discrimination in my country,,

but I am aware that if we stand united...if we stay awake against these odds...we can change the country,,,,
all that it needs is too get united.... its our turn...the youth of our nation..to demand..to act...and to built a better nation..
Is it impossible when there are 540 million youth in our country??

The Adam's plea

It might be true that we  tortured you people a lot...
But those were just fun... Actually we thought you enjoyed being teased...
But now that you people have completely made up your minds to screw us.. don't we deserve some pity..???

We know that eve teasing is a terrible experience... I mean was a terrible experience..
Now ...does that mean the Eves should start troubling the Adams..?
You must be knowing what we go through...

Are we safe to roam freely after sunset.. you just don't allow us to ..
Perhaps it makes us so concerned about our looks..every now and then we check the length of our trousers or the perfectness in the tucking of our shirts inside the pants..
Otherwise never know what you silly girls tend to call us.. weird names..SRK..KRK.....you don't even spare Dileep kumar..

Last Sunday ..while I passed through the chor gallii..those bully girls across the lanes...they just crossed the limits.. imagine they called me...oh ..I cant tell it so publicly...it so embarrassing ....how can you girls do this to us..!!!!

We just don't feel like travelling ... neither by train..nor by the bus....
the eves trouble us there tooo....

The way you stare at us...It feels so awkward.... its as if you are stripped in the crowd...

You girls... don't you have fathers and brothers..??
Every guy is a brother of one among you..how would you feel if a lady teases your little brother??

Please stop this...our ancestors must have did the worst with your community.. but please don't punish this generation for their unknown sin..

It brought tears to my eyes when I read the worst news of a young boy gang raped by a group of evil minded girls...you even pushed out  a gentle man from a running train!! Imagine what they must have gone through...what their family must be going through..

The entire male species is fed up...spare us now...we plead guilty of troubling you in the past..wont ever do this to you..
Its high time to stop ....now Adam teasing is the worst social problem.. consider us..have pity on us...support us...

Ever imagined what happens if the girls decide it against you...???
we are completely fed up...
if the girls weren't patient and  forgiving by nature,,,the above would have been the experience of many a gentlemen on this earth...
Its high time to stop the  dominating male society to protest the eve teasing and other troubles that the females face...
If you people were to suffer this due to us...what would you do??? write a letter as above...??? then be ready...Because the girls may start the revenge any time...they r fed up of silently bearing the tortures

THE STORY OF MY DEATH

This had become just like a ritual for  me....devotion always had a very prominent place in my heart...
....I wasn't  a god fearing person....in fact I loved god...

This year too, I decided to visit sabarimala.
My decision to make my 18th pilgrimage to sabarimala on makarasankrathi was perhaps a coincidence..
It was the first time that I am going to witness the 'wonder'..and the feeling was completely different. Devotion, excitement , adventure....every thing rained into me..

There exists many contradictions against the mystery of occurrence of Makara Jyothi..they say it all..

Numerous reasons..but I find it very difficult to decide between rationalism and devotion.

However it was completely a different experience when I witnessed everything...a sense of completeness...the belief that the almighty does exist...

It had answered my question..perhaps the question which remains unanswered in the hearts of many a souls on this earth...

DOES GOD EXIST??

Many have their own reasons to justify the existence of the super power ,,but today my eyes answered them all..I was almost immersed in the truth..and forgot all the other worldly existence..It was completely different ,,,an aura of purity and holiness

The extra security and force on the proper path to sabarimala caused many a discomfort for the devotees..and hence to avoid the danger of stampede we preferred the other way..the way through pullumedu.

It was my journey back home..much eager to share my experience with my family
This time there was a feeling of  completeness in me

There were many happy faces around me...right from the 5 year old to the 70 year old.

It all began with a road accident..perhaps the reason is still not clear for the government .. may be the clarity is dim because of the closed eyes of irresponsibility..

All that I remember is just a hush bush caused by many a people running across..disturbing the serene atmosphere..
the air that echoed Swami Saranam was now filled with cries of helplessness..

Perhaps many had experienced the unexpected...and then after a minute of complete darkness....I opened my eyes...I could see an auto besides a jeep..both crushed ...only to result in many black and saffron torn clothes ...very difficult to recognise human body amidst the crap...

I tried lifting myself ...all that I wanted was to escape from this disastrous place...run away to a  peaceful place...so that I could prove myself that it was just a bad night mare...and I am going to wake from my sleep in a minute or so...
but truth was something else...I was completely destroyed when I realised that my body is almost paralysed ..and ...

AM I DYING...??

I saw them all...the 5 year old with whom I shared this journey...the old woman who explained me the significance of devotion and belief..

An hour ago...I hardly thought about my lifespan...In fact I was busy searching excuses to explain to my boss for the extended leave..I just cared about the family..my job ..my journey..but never ever imagined it to be the last journey of my life..

Far from my loved ones...the only thing that remains is the desire to meet them once..but helpless ...

My body is lying here in the debris along with many a devotees...now this is somewhere all the gaps are bridged..no caste..no religion..no one even asks you about the colour of your ration card when you are at the gates of death...every creature is equal in the eyes of death

I wish my death no more remains a unanswered case like many other accidents...I wish they sort out the reason for this stampede...

I wish they don't price the value of my life...in lakhs or thousands.,...

I wish no more devotee ever fear to visit sabarimala..for silly security reasons..

I wish they show more interest in the investigation of the accident,...and not in the reality of makara jyothi..

but can the DEAD wish...??

I WISH I WASN'T DEAD...

OF PLANETS AND STARS

Since my ruling Planet is pluto (even though it is not a planet) ,and my sun is much stronger than rahus and ketus...I will have to take care of my health..or i am gonnna be seriously hurt..(an obvious prediction)

This is what my astrologer suggests...

Dont raise your eyebrows..for I did not get the answer for my surprise...

He even predicts that I may do well in my exams at the risk of a little hardwork...now that's something that my teachers could not confirm for the past few years and he had confirmed within a minute checking my planets and stars!!

I have this friend who used to keep some sort of vidya sutra in his pen box during the exams so as to do well in the exams..
He did it so well that he is now repeating the exams for the third time...and still doing it...

Once an astrologer adviced my dad not to lend money to anyone from his hands ,,since the money that flows from my dad's hand will not find a way back...

And the moral of the story is.....my dad is in search of the same guy ,,since he is not returning the money he borrowed a year ago...

Strange are the predictions of these astromen..!!! sometimes they can even predict your past..and if it turns true....they earn the trust of many..

However I lost the trust on these predictions the day an astrologer said I have chances of space travel in my horoscope....!!!!

And what about you...???

QUESTIONS UNANSWERED

I am back to blogosphere after a long time....its a sort of back home after a long time feeling....MISSED THIS BLOGGING WORLD A LOT....

Last week Mumbai was completely on alert. This alert was actually  the impact of dreadful 26/11...
You could see police officers almost on every nook and corner...
armed with big guns,,,bullet proof jackets and the suspicious stares on almost every person,..
Even I could not escape the stare and enquiry from an inspector at the C.S.T railway station...

I was pretty impresed by the securities and other facilities in mumbai on that particular day....

But one question that arised in my mind was...why only on that day...26 nov of every year ,,,,??

Is it that the terrorists will atack mumbai only on that particular day???

Why only 26 of nov......dont we need to protect the city on other days???
It was only on this day that we witnessed  terrorism in the nerves of mumbai....else its a normal day for the mumbaikars

...Now once the terrorist attacked on 26/11 in 2008...so  mumbai is on alert  only on that day..other wise no big guns and bulletproof  jackets...no bag ckeckings and no detectors...

the detectors installed at various places are almost paralysed ones....big frames at various doors...and entrances with red light flashing every now and then...

If  proper measure were taken before 26/11/2008 we could have avoided the experience
my question is .....why do we neglect the protection of our country,,??? does that mean 11/7 or 26/11...and such remarkable dates in the history of terrorism need to be on alert...

When the entire country is bust with the politics..spectrums...parliament shoe throws...elections...and collapse of rule....and various other issues.....,,,,we may not even know when we succumb to the call of this dreadful demon of terrorism..

The protectors of the country may be busy with the protection of a politician or a film star...the media may be covering a story on dongi baba....and the country wont even know..wen the terrorist came...and the attatck took place,,,exactly like what happened during the 2008 terror....

why talk about the prevention......when the cure is yet to be discovered!!!

the aftereffects of the 26/11 attack....is that a better one...??

ours is a country where the the judiciary takes decades to make a decision...DECADES???....some cases it took....CENTURIES.....!!!

What happened to kasab???

he is the most protected person on the country now......

why are we wasting time to prove that he is guilty.....???

Its obvious that every mumbaikar wants him to be hanged......we expect him to suffer the worst......and what do we get as answer to this expectation??
Is it the scene of our ministers enquiring about goodwill of the terrorist?

Do you think the souls of the police constables , officers and even the common men who lost their life on 26/11 will  ever be able to rest in peace.....Was it for this that they sacrificed their life....?

ALL that remains is a set of unanswered questions........AND the fear of safety,,,

HOPELESS DREAMS

He was very excited today. It was his last chance. After he failed in the S.S.C board exams, life was terrible for him. A few months before, he was helpless to explain his failure. He couldn’t recognize the reason for the low marks he scored in the mathematics examination.

Whether it was the shock caused by his dad's sudden death?

Whether it was the unexpected burden of responsibilities on him after his dad's sad demise?

Or was it the hate towards the subject Maths?

However,, Today he loathed remembering these unanswered questions. Today, He has this second chance with him to rewrite the math exam and prove his eligibility for higher studies. It’s his ATKT exam today.

Since the last three months he has struggled a lot for today.

His only aim was passing the maths examination. He practiced maths problems entire day, he almost became insomniac in the night.

He lived maths, he breathed maths, if he ever discussed anything then, it was his desire to score in the exam.

He had changed completely. He started loving the subject. He even started attending career counseling, so as to decide his future plans.

Being his neighbor, I could see the growth he underwent day by day. Sense of responsibility towards his family could be recognized from his talks. The guy who never touched his maths notebook started knocking my doors requesting me to explain the doubts he faced in the subject.

I still remember the text message I received last month at 3.00 a.m.:

Di,, will you please teach me the conversion of binary to decimal???

He had assured his mother that he is going to top the exam. His hard work reflected the success that awaited him.

Today..is the day..his examination..his last chance...

He was very excited. He was the first student to reach the examination hall. He was smiling throughout while searching his roll no. on the notice board,, wishing luck to the guy next to him..And sharpening the pencils.. Sticking the holocraft....

He waited anxiously for the question paper.

He soon saw a man in his forties enter the classroom. The man distributed several papers to the students. But not everyone, only half of the class.

He peeped to the next bench.

It was not question papers, but,,,,,,

A SHEET WITH SOLUTIONS TO THE QUESTIONS IN THE EXAM.

He was astonished. He felt completely blank.

The guy next to him said: "you didn’t pay?? It hardly costs a few hundred bucks. Who has time to study these boring sums...they give the entire answer sheet for the money!"

He didn’t understand what was happening. His hands were motionless, he couldn’t hold the pen.

Is this the reward for his hard work? The rich guys need not work hard?

He felt betrayed...he felt useless....no one in the world would ever understand his feelings. Because he was a failure. And if he failed in the repeated exam, he will no longer be worthy of living. However he tried scribbling some numbers on the answer sheet. The rest of the time he spent cursing the almighty for his unluck!!!

He returned home with a weird face. I met him on the stairs of our apartment.

"HEY, how was the test??? Why so sad???"

He said :

"Nothing ...its useless till we allow money to rule over hard work. Its not education that is considered....its the bank balance of one's parents..Its money that wins everywhere...I was helpless...
My DREAMS ARE HOPELESS...."

The very next moment he broke into tears. I tried convincing him. But the wound in his heart was so deep that my words fell over deaf ears......

Don’t know whom to blame....

His fate???

The education system???

The corrupt people???

The blind spectators like us???

Or the society????

CORRUPTION is slowly defeating democracy and we are so inactive allowing corruption to win....

TO ALL THE DAUGHTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its daughter's day tomorrow .
Even though there are many parents around me organizing various celebrations around ,though I find it difficult to digest the significance of this day. The question that remains unanswered is whether this day is worth a celebration?
Being a daughter myself I would like to wish all the Daughters a HAPPY DAUGHTERS DAY.

Happy daughters day to all those unborn daughters who witness death right in their mother's womb.

Happy daughters day to all those mothers who support female infanticide , since it's always a son who completes the family. LET ME ASK YOU ONE QUESTION:
weren't you a daughter some day?

Happy daughter's day to all the daughters who had to become a wife before she could complete the role of a daughter.Who says child marriage is abolished from the country.
Then justify the TRP's an T.V. soap receives because of this concept.
Justify the tragedy of girls who embrace motherhood at an younger age.
Justify the story of a bride who met her groom on the wedding day..even though she was married to him at age 9.

Happy daughters day to all those daughters who are not allowed to chose her own love,,,her own life.
Thanks to the community for  her helplessness to chose between love and family....in fear of the life she has to lead with another stranger.

Happy daughters day to all those daughters who had to face the dark clutches of the demon,,,'RAPE'.
no matter what you name it,,, molestation, harassment etc etc. the pain remains the same...for her unknown mistake she is the one disapproved by the society while the demons roam around freely.

Happy daughters day to all those daughters who remains helpless when her prestige an decency gets misinterpreted . Thanks to the eve teasing champions!!!
Name at least one parent who is not worried to allow their daughters move outdoors after 10 in the night, no matter whether it is a city or a village.
I believe that there is no woman in this world who has escaped this disaster. It remains as an unwanted piece of harsh experience in her life.

Happy daughters day to all the daughters who are forced to sell themselves for a living.
If prostitution was a sin, why aren't they saved from the clutches of the cruel men.

Happy daughters day to all those who feel that a woman's freedom of speech is limited.
when a lady spoke of premarital sex she had to face many wraths...but when a guy spoke about it ,,it was his intelligence and concern for the society .

Happy daughters day to all those daughter who still fear their life for the slavery they have to face due to Dowry system and other social hazards like polygamy......

Happy daughters day to all those daughters who are proud to be a women in spite of all these odds...............

BE PROUD TO BE A WOMAN,,,,, BE PROUD TO BE A DAUGHTER..........

SUPERstitious ME

When you get A LEG FRACTURED,, there are many advicers around you,

"you should stop walking...." !!!

"better use a wheelchair"!!!!

"Look before you walk" !!!

When the doctor demonstrated about twisted muscles, I wished I learnt biology in College.

And this was the most funniest advice,,,

"did you cross over a mirchi limbu???"
err..?? how can a mirchi limbu fracture my leg???

"yes it can ,, u know one of my friend got oral cancer since he spitted on limbu mirchi"
oh..really.....thank God he didnt piss over it...u donno Indian men can make almost any place a public toilet.

"joke aside,,, im serious... "
"me too"....I gigged and settled myself on the bed....taking care of my broken leg.

"no..no...dont sit on the pillow...."
I jumped over,, hurting my leg...I thought there was a cockroach and she's warning me.

"sitting on pillow will reduce the income of the family,,debts will increase"
eh???? No yaar .... thats what old people say. This saying was an idea to avoid people sitting on pillow.
To stop pillows from flattening...."

no...don't shake your legs...its harmful"
ha yaar,, i know,,,but this leg is fine it is the other tleg that hurts

no,,, if you shake legs while seated on a bed...its a sin
no...that was an idea to stop the spitoons fall. Old men used to keep their spitoons below the bed for easy access. And if anyone shakes their leg,,it may cause the spit to spread over the floor!!

see,,,,you'r so silly......that's why you are suffering. You dont believe in God.
I do believe in God,,,,but my faith is not blind

you'll get to know when you'll suffer
"isnt this a suffering???". I said as I lifted my fractured leg.....

"so you have any plans...why don't we use this limbu mirchi techniques on the terrorists....it will save Indian money spend on defence.."
you dont have common sense........
no... my sense is not common,,its extra ordinary. Can we adjust with sixth sense...???.My refrigerator has it.

Thus she continued with more superstitious theories an I kept on rationalizing them.....
If you have an oldie in your home , then every problem has a evil effect...

oops... its strange when your fractured leg itches.

THE BLAME GAME

We often come across various ocassions where we are forced to blame the government .

The city is unclean, blame the municipality. It doesnt matter even if the waste was thrown out of your window.

There is corruption everywhere,, why blame the government.?? Stop paying them.

None of us will ever try to stop those men spitting paan on public places,,,unless and untill they spit on your door. And we want the government to keep public places clean!

I have often heard students blame the education system. They say it imposes burden on them.
If an average scoring student takes up engineering in an Indian college only because he got the seat through the caste resevation system, he would end up becoming a useless engineer.
Recently one of my friend (belonging to scheduled caste reservation category) was found criticizing the Indian education system .
Iasked him, " So why dont you reject the seats that you get in an institution because of your caste status. Even the caste reservation is a curse to the indian education system!"

This is what he replied to me
" Will you reject the best college in the city even though you deserve none? If some one asks me to chose between a golden axe and an iron axe , its obvious that i would grab the golden ."

I felt speechless. A few moments ago, he spoke of the faults in education system and now he
regrets from acting against the system!
I could speak nothing . But I managed to reply ,
"Choose the axe that you prefer. But do remember that its the iron axe that ultimately comes handy. "

Its simply easy to blame the government for all the faults in the system.
Afterall its we citizens who elect the government.
We elected them to rule the country, but that doesn't mean we dont have any responsibility towards our country!
Unless and untill we decide and act, nothing's gonna change.
Lets act and try together to convert India into a developed country from a developing nation.
Indian's have always made history, then why remain passive in the present!??

THE INDIAN WAY

Thank you guys for the wonder ful response on my previous post. I observed that there are many students in Mumbai who are dissapointed about the interference of caste system in the education sector.

The system in India is so old that this reservation has filled mostof the government offices with the reseved categories. Now thats what we call a developed nation. Equality rules!!!. After all, it is the most significant principle of democracy!!!!!!!.

One of my friend gave us a treat yesterday,,guess the reason?

no,,it wasnt her birthday....she was very happy because she no more belongs to the open category.!

when her dad conducted a research on their family history, he was surprised to know that they belong to one of the backward castes in the country that is approved in the reservation category.

My friend is very happy because she has got the most valued document in the country..........THE CASTE CERTIFICATE.

This made me envy of her . She can secure a seat in a good reputed college in mumbai .The open caste fellows will have to wait in the queue fo some more time.......BETTER LUCK GUYS....

Heres a joke that clearly depicts the stand of India compared to other nations:

Prime minister: We are sending Indians to moon next year .

Obama: Wow!!!how many???

Prime Minister: 100

35- OBC (other backward castes)

25- scheduled castes

20 -scheduled tribes

10- sports person

4 - jammu kashmir migrants

10- physically handicapped

and if possible.. ......1 astronaut
