I Live in India

Disclaimer: Not intended to hurt political or religious sentiments. Apologies before hand ( And yeah no pun intended in the disclaimer).

I live in the  assumed to be democratic country called India.

I live in a country where I may need a lawyer anytime if  I am managing to have an Internet connection or planning to use  my freedom of expression over Internet.

I Live in a country where kissing in public is an offence but pissing in public is all okay.

I live in a country where watching porn over internet is much safer than updating or tweeting what's in my mind.

I live in a country with a big history of invasions, no matter what you call it, Mughals, British or Globalisation.

I live in a country where people stay hungry and helpless not just because of  poverty but perhaps that's our new way to get our demands done (ode to the father of the nation)

I live in a country where we have garbage corners ( not a dispose bin )

I live in a country where you can expect a downpour any time where you may end up with garbage pile over your head( thanks to easy window garbage disposal techniques used here)

I live in a country where we re elect the same government again and later continue blaming them for inefficiency .

I Live in a country, where we prefer a leader who can manage us a free TV or cable connection, or may be a brand new car for electing them.

I live in a country of crores of Gods , demigods, Super Gods, human gods. Our gods will raise my salary if I guarantee them a continuous free milk supply, or a basket of candles or even a bunch of bananas.( now you know the root of corruption at our place)( disclaimer: not intended to hurt religious sentiments)

No we don't bribe, we just give them chaay paani

I live in a country with a principal of  ATHITHI DEVO BHAVA, no matter if you are a terrorist or a prime minister.

I Live in a country where you are reserved, if you are into a so called low caste. No matter what's your financial status or academic merits.

I live in a country where inter caste marriages are  against the tradition, leave alone homosexuality.

I Live in  INDIA

ON a funny note: I found it really innovative :P

PROBABLY...... MY DEATH MAY BE JUSTIFIED

This post is an humble contribution by me towards the justice that demands answer to the lives of the brave hearts KEENAN SANTOS and REUBEN FERNANDEZ.
This post speaks Keenan's words..the way Keenan must be feeling at present ..
Please forgive and feel free to post in the comments sections if this post tends to hurt sentiments of any person...

DEATH is a word that underestimates the bravery of the good souls Keenan and Reuben.

Anyone unaware of this brave deed please visit the following link before forwarding to the post below:
http://www.ndtv.com/video/player/news/india-shocked-by-deaths-of-mumbai-bravehearts-keenan-reuben/215239

Speaker: Keenan Santos

That night was just awsum ...but I hardly ever imagined it would turn out to be as dreadful as a nightmare...
we were done with dinner...just about to move away..I saw him..he was well dressed.. I doubt he was drunk..indeed he was the evil..

He misbehaved.

'EVE TEASING ' would be the correct word....

mumbaikars are very used to it....it happens in almost every nook and corner of the society..

No guy would withstand...no guy would forgive...if anyone does mischief with his girl friend...
I can never forgive ...in fact I  'could'  never forgive...if someone misbehaves with my buddies..

I opposed It..Reuben opposed it...we drove him away...

I didn't realize his killer instincts till he returned with four more men  who were armed with sickles, knives, bamboos, stumps....

He attacked me....I couldn't resist ...

The pain was intolerable...something sharp had pierced into me...
I was slowly losing my existence...

Avinash hit one of them with a piece of glass...Reuben was attacked tooo... he was also defenseless..
the roads were bloodshed...even though there were many spectators around....none helped.
I cannot recollect it all....but still I remember the terror stricken faces of my buddies

I had to succumb I surrendered....no because i was brave enough to face death... I died fighting...my death had more significance...it was an answer to many a devils...in the streets out there

I could see Reuben struggle for life in the hospital...he underwent many surgeries...
I wished he survived...at least to not let those guys free
This time too my wish remained silent....death was victories...here he is...Reuben is with me toooo

Though we are together...guys,,,,
I miss u allll...our days on earth were more than heaven for me.....

I can now see many candles burning for me and Reuben...
Many hearts weeping for us
Many a hands joining together to pray for us
Many a tears flowing for us

I never imagined my goodbye from earth would be so brave and neither did Reuben
I wish our death is justified
I don't know which lawyer is gonna attend for them....I wish these shameless had atleast a pinch of guilt

The media did celebrate this news for many a days....but now since it lost its'hotness'....I wish its not gonna be closed down like every other eve teasing cases...

Mumbai is a city which is termed to be very safe for women....
Still we had to lose our life in the same city for the very same case

To avoid death of many a keenans and reubens....we demand justice!!!!!!!
I know demanding a justice in a country which takes more than  three years to decide upon a terrorist who Killed many a lives,,,,,
demanding justice in a country where justice is the only thing available very late.....
demanding justice in a country where corruption and influence  plays every role,,,,

I know demanding justice in India is difficult....but not impossible

Am not sorry for our death...but for for our loved ones who are still denied justice
...........the ones who miss me

I may not physically exist among you guys....
but am always there with you....we are there with you....
Me and Reuben wish our sacrifice never goes wasted....
WE believe our death will be justified!!!!!!!

If you heart prays For Keenan and Reuben.....
join this group....
share it...
spread the word....
demand justice for them

Toooo NuMb to AcT

Sometimes we talk big things ...and later realize we are not even worth contributing a small penny..

As if many Indians speak out eradicating corruption, terrorism, and many such social enigmas..but hardly anyone  act..

Its quite easy to speak against these odds..but acting against them is just impossible...

We speak about the enemies of our society...KASAB,, MAULANA MASOOD......countless names...  There are many suggestions by the Indians all over the world..about what must be done with these people.

But we often fail to recognise some of the enemies of our country who are hidden amongst us..
May be because we are just not bothered about the small stone...we are too busy removing the rocks..

I came across one such person last week
I was attending a Music show in our city... It was a very big crowd..
at the end all the spectators were asked to stand up for the national anthem,,,
It was one of the proudest moment in my life... a crowd  of one lakh stood up ...and silently expressed their love for the country..

but there were these group of men in the next row of audience who didn't bother to sprain their muscles. They remained  seated for the entire 52 seconds...

That was resistible...but they didn't even bother keeping quite for a few seconds... they were constantly passing comments about the national anthem,,,

They were indeed strangers to me...but the hatred that i felt for them was something difficult to express in words..I felt helpless.. I could do nothing ,

even though I felt slapping them at their face,,, I was left helpless..

after the anthem ,,I spoke about it to my friends present there..but the reply was silly,,
" why do you bother them,,,None in the crowd around us spoke against them,,why you?? get going"

Aren't these people enemies of  India??..I am sorry that they are Indians!!!

there are many instances to these disrespect in our country..................once the Channawala packed me  the channas(nuts)  in INDIAN FLAG

I am helpless when I  am asked bribe by the officer to get my domicile documents...
I am helpless when my colleague gets eve teased..
I am helpless when I witness gender discrimination in my country,,

but I am aware that if we stand united...if we stay awake against these odds...we can change the country,,,,
all that it needs is too get united.... its our turn...the youth of our nation..to demand..to act...and to built a better nation..
Is it impossible when there are 540 million youth in our country??

HOPELESS DREAMS

He was very excited today. It was his last chance. After he failed in the S.S.C board exams, life was terrible for him. A few months before, he was helpless to explain his failure. He couldn’t recognize the reason for the low marks he scored in the mathematics examination.

Whether it was the shock caused by his dad's sudden death?

Whether it was the unexpected burden of responsibilities on him after his dad's sad demise?

Or was it the hate towards the subject Maths?

However,, Today he loathed remembering these unanswered questions. Today, He has this second chance with him to rewrite the math exam and prove his eligibility for higher studies. It’s his ATKT exam today.

Since the last three months he has struggled a lot for today.

His only aim was passing the maths examination. He practiced maths problems entire day, he almost became insomniac in the night.

He lived maths, he breathed maths, if he ever discussed anything then, it was his desire to score in the exam.

He had changed completely. He started loving the subject. He even started attending career counseling, so as to decide his future plans.

Being his neighbor, I could see the growth he underwent day by day. Sense of responsibility towards his family could be recognized from his talks. The guy who never touched his maths notebook started knocking my doors requesting me to explain the doubts he faced in the subject.

I still remember the text message I received last month at 3.00 a.m.:

Di,, will you please teach me the conversion of binary to decimal???

He had assured his mother that he is going to top the exam. His hard work reflected the success that awaited him.

Today..is the day..his examination..his last chance...

He was very excited. He was the first student to reach the examination hall. He was smiling throughout while searching his roll no. on the notice board,, wishing luck to the guy next to him..And sharpening the pencils.. Sticking the holocraft....

He waited anxiously for the question paper.

He soon saw a man in his forties enter the classroom. The man distributed several papers to the students. But not everyone, only half of the class.

He peeped to the next bench.

It was not question papers, but,,,,,,

A SHEET WITH SOLUTIONS TO THE QUESTIONS IN THE EXAM.

He was astonished. He felt completely blank.

The guy next to him said: "you didn’t pay?? It hardly costs a few hundred bucks. Who has time to study these boring sums...they give the entire answer sheet for the money!"

He didn’t understand what was happening. His hands were motionless, he couldn’t hold the pen.

Is this the reward for his hard work? The rich guys need not work hard?

He felt betrayed...he felt useless....no one in the world would ever understand his feelings. Because he was a failure. And if he failed in the repeated exam, he will no longer be worthy of living. However he tried scribbling some numbers on the answer sheet. The rest of the time he spent cursing the almighty for his unluck!!!

He returned home with a weird face. I met him on the stairs of our apartment.

"HEY, how was the test??? Why so sad???"

He said :

"Nothing ...its useless till we allow money to rule over hard work. Its not education that is considered....its the bank balance of one's parents..Its money that wins everywhere...I was helpless...
My DREAMS ARE HOPELESS...."

The very next moment he broke into tears. I tried convincing him. But the wound in his heart was so deep that my words fell over deaf ears......

Don’t know whom to blame....

His fate???

The education system???

The corrupt people???

The blind spectators like us???

Or the society????

CORRUPTION is slowly defeating democracy and we are so inactive allowing corruption to win....

ENCOUNTERED AGAIN

Our father of nation had three monkeys...speak no evil, hear no evil and see no evil..(at least that's what I know as a proof of my school history education). Now that we have come across 60 years of independence, its the grandson of these monkeys who rules
India.
CORRUPTION

I have come across many such incidents in my life where i had to see the dreadful face of corruption,,,i had mentioned one such incident in my blog,, click here and you can read it at the expense of a click here...my previous post on corruption

Coming back ,, one of my friends recently told me about an incident where she had to solve the issue with this chay paani (that's how we mumbaikars refer to corruption as)

She had visited pandarpur recently. its a pilgrim place in Maharashtra where thousands of people gather for the Pandarpur yatra.. The devotees have to stand in long queues for more than a day to have a glimpse of lord vittal.when my buddy was explaining the difficulties the devotees have to face for the glimpse of god,, other part of my brain was sympathizing on the god who stood there for hours and hours fulfilling the wishes of his devotees. Imagine God requesting for a break from these hullabaloo....

so the story goes like this...

My friend went to pandarpur with her family comprising of senior citizens and small children.

Waiting in long queues was simply not a cakewalk for them . To save them from this distress,,Mr.corruption incarnated. A higher authority of the temple offered them the darshan of lord vittal in exchange to a bundle of greens (bundle of rupees 500 ).After an exchange of few bargains the deal was fixed.

A glimpse of god worth Rs.6500.

After a series of cross examination, the notes were handed over to the person. he went inside only to return asking for more money . He claimed that the number of notes were less and he needed more. Embarrassed , the senior males of the family handed over more money to the man who claimed himself to be the holy pandit. Even though my friend had a chance to see lord vittal,,guess what she prayed????
"SAVE INDIA FROM CORRUPTION"

Faith and religion are the most sensitive issue in India, now attacked by the giant of corruption...only one question is left unanswered....

when will India be corruption free????

A police in need is a beggar indeed

its raining in mumbai..

for engineering students,,its raining questions..(exams are going on!)

for s.s.c students ,,,its raining marks...this one is very uncertain....somewhere the rain is scanty while some places its heavy...

for mothers,,its raining nervousness....schools are reopening...

for fathers,,,,its second week of the month,,their pockets have become less heavy,,almost empty...so its not raining in this region..its draught...

however for me,,its raining boredom..so i decided to run away from my life....

hold on,,i am not gonna suicide

....i decided to run away from this busy and boring life

we decided to spend few days in the lap of nature....it was decided that some 10 members of my class would be bunking the next few days of chemistry lectures and we would be spending our days and nights in a beautiful place somewhere near matheran..hiking,camping,rock climbing,,,etc etc.

so we took off on Saturday afternoon..we comforted ourselves in a mini bus arranged by one of my friends...it was a 6 hours long journey...

many arrangements were made.by me..my entire luggage comprised of eatables,,,as if i am not going to explore nature but to attend the calls of nature...

after settling at the window seat with a few packet of lays and my ear phones plugged into my ears..i was ready for the journey

it was smooth for the next three hours...after three hours we reached a lonely place where one could find only tall banyan trees..it was at the middle of a national highway

the only human species that could be spotted were the two traffic policemen who were waving their hands at us...

our driver stopped the bus.

we were least concerned because we were unaware of the fact that our driver forgot to carry his permit letter.

aha!!!the two police men started questioning the driver,

confusion and worry took their firm roots in the young brains tensed in the bus.....

what now??????

i almost finished 5 packets of lays and 2 of kurkure...but no idea arose in my brain...

who said these food items contan minerals iodine and all those craps????

i made a firm decision..

i am gonna shift to parle- G..G for genious....thats aamir khans reason for perfection...

coming back to the current situation,,our driver had to call his boss,,,who took another one hour to reach at the situation.

this man was a marathi guy with large black cooling glass on his oily head, mouth overflowing with paan(tobacco) and all types of jewellery providing glow to his grey safari suit..

donno what wonders he did!!!!!!!!

he came he saw and he conquered

he handled the permit letter to the policemen..shook hands with them and within few seconds,,,the driver took over the driving seat....

i slowly headed towards the driver kaka and asked

" kaka kay kele tyani??everythings fine ...can we go???"

he looked at me with a wicked smile
"its mumbai police ,,my child,,,...a police in need is beggar indeed,,,,saab will look after it...u people enjoy"
i was surprised. Is this the way indians handle problems??
is corruption a solution to every question??
arent we careless about the future of ou nation?
if this continues.....india will soon slip into the hands of the so- called- babus and saabs...
Is this right????
many questions arose in my brain..my brain cells were searching the answers for these ,,all that i could too was to finish another few packets of snacks.....
still searching solutions....when will our country be corruption free???
